Rexburg street fair kicks off

It was an exciting night in Rexburg, as the city held it’s annual street fair, parade and dance.

The event is held every year to help kick off the International Dance Festival happening this week.

It all started at about 5 p.m. with several blocks of Main Street shutting down for local businesses to open up booths along the sidewalks.

Everyone from hairstylists to pizza makers came out to show off their goods before the dancers performed in the streets.

John Webber has owned a clothing shop on the street for more than 20 years. He said while being a fun time, it’s also a huge boost for local business owners.

“We look forward to it every year. It’s a great activity for our community and for downtown Rexburg,” said Webber.

Webber said thousands of people walk by his shop during the fair each year.

International dancers will perform later on this week as the festival continues.
