Man gets prison in Civic Auditorium peeping

An Idaho Falls man will go to prison after he was caught peeping in a women’s bathroom.

George Robert Jones, 57, was sentenced on Thursday on a felony charge of sexual abuse of a minor. He appeared before 7th District Judge Jon Shindurling, who sentenced Jones to a minimum of 10 years in prison.

Jones was arrested after police said he was caught peeping into the women’s bathroom at the Idaho Falls Civic Auditorium in June. He had pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement.

Judge Shindurling said a psycho-sexual evaluation discovered Jones had committed similar acts about 20 times before in the same location.

Jones also admitted to having between 400 to 500 episodes ofvoyeurismand exhibitionism throughout his lifetime.

“We’ve made efforts at rehabilitation with him, but he continues to prey on the women and children in our community,” said Bonneville County Deputy Prosecutor Daniel Clark.

After the evaluation was completed, Jones was deemed to be a high-risk sexual predator.
