“30 Days, 30 Questions” No. 21

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Sports Line continued its “30 Days, 30 Questions” campaign Friday night with question No. 21.

“How does Madison match up at the 5A level?”

Bobcats head coach Mitch Buck tells Sports Line he thinks Madison will be just as good as Highland this season, but the Bobcats don’t play the Rams until Oct. 19. We’ll have to wait and see if Buck is right. However, Madison does match up well with Skyline, Idaho Falls and Hillcrest.

A lot of Madison’s season could be riding on the shoulders of senior QB Logan Anderson. Anderson returns for his senior year after performing well for the Bobcats in 2011. Anderson is a threat to run the ball, and Buck tells us Anderson throws “a nice, catchable ball.” With a running, throwing threat at quarterback, Madison could put up a lot of points this season if they can keep the chains moving on third downs.

Buck also told Sports Line he has nine returning starters on defense. That adds up quickly as the defense should be able to hold opponents on those similar third downs.

“30 Days, 30 Questions” continues every night until kick off August 24.
