Crane falls on worker at Blackfoot construction site

A crane fell and crushed a 35-year-old man Monday morning.

Blackfoot Police Capt. Kurt Asmus said the man was trying to take the crane apart in the Walmart parking lot to load it on a flatbed at about 9:15 a.m. There were no eyewitnesses, but workers said they heard a crash and found the man crushed underneath the crane. Emergency workers were able to lift the boom and remove the victim. He was transported by Life Flight to Portneuf Medical Center. His name and condition were not released.

The man was working on a construction site east of Walmart in Blackfoot.
