Water Board wants your feedback
The Idaho Water Resource Board will receive comment on proposed changes to the Idaho Comprehensive State Water Plan via mail, e-mail and during public hearings scheduled throughout the State. Three public hearings are scheduled for the upcoming week:
Salmon, Monday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m., US Forest Service Bldg., 1206 S. Challis St., Salmon, ID 83467. Soda Springs, Thursday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m., Caribou County Extension, 53 E. First S., Soda Springs, ID 83276. Idaho Falls, Thursday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m., City Council Chambers, City Annex, 680 Park Ave., Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
There will be a short presentation and a question-and-answer period before testimonies.
The IWRB has undertaken a review and evaluation of the Idaho Comprehensive State Water Plan adopted in 1996. During the planning process, the IWRB sought public participation and comment and is proposing changes to the 1996 State Water Plan, according to a news release. The public comment period will remain open through the close of business on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012. Comments can be submitted electronically via e-mail to SWP@idwr.idaho.gov, sent via mail to IWRB, ATTN: SWP, PO Box 83720-0098, Boise, ID 83720-0098; or through testimony at the public hearings. After considering public comment and reviewing the proposed changes, the IWRB will consider adopting a final plan for submission to the 2013 Idaho Legislature.
