Local business celebrates 75 years
A long-standing business in Idaho Falls turns 75 today.
Doug Andrus Distributing, also known as DAD’s, has come a long way since starting.
Doug Andrus set up shop in 1937, using horses and a Chevy farm truck to distribute goods.
Today, DAD’s operates with a fleet of more than 200 trucks, but that isn’t the only thing the company has to be proud of.
“I’m proud of what Grandpa started, and what my dad, Heber, and Doug Jr. built upon,” said Jason Andrus, Doug Andrus’ grandson, who now serves as chief financial officer for DAD’s. “Those were the years that were really tough years, and it took a lot of work to get to this point.”
Over 75 years, DAD’s has created more than 2,000 Idaho jobs.
