Sheriff: Calls about missing jury duty are fake
Calls and messages claiming you have missed jury duty and that there is a warrant out for your arrest are fake, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
The message tells the recipient to call (704) 319-7254.
The Jury Commissioners Office in Bonneville County has been receiving telephone calls from people receiving these messages.
It is someone’s way of playing a joke on people, or an attempt to defraud people of money, Sgt. Jeff Edwards said.
Bonneville County will not call if you miss a jury duty appearance. It will either mail a letter to your home, or have a deputy come to your home and serve a summons for fail to appear.
