Motorcyclist dies in deer collision

A Firth man was killed when his motorcycle hit a deer Friday night.

Idaho State Police said Arnold Gene Taylor, 42, was driving north on U.S. Highway 91 near Firth. The accident happened around 9:20, they said.

Police had said Taylor was not wearing a helmet, but on Tuesday, a paramedic who was there told Local News 8 that Taylor was indeed wearing a helmet, but crews had to take it off to treat him.

Traffic on the highway had to be diverted for about an hour while police investigated the accident.
