One killed in Car-Semi collision on Highway 26

A car and a semi-truck collided on Highway 26 about 12 miles east of Ririe killing the driver of the car.

Idaho State Police said Shaine White, 37, of Meridian was heading west and crossed the center line into an oncoming semi.

Police said Richard Hotchkiss, 56, of Twin Falls, tried to avoid the collision by steering to the right. But the car still hit the truck and caught on fire.

Two people on a motorcycle were hit by debris, but were not injured, police said.

Police also said White was not wearing a seatbelt and died in the crash.

Hotchkiss was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Police said their still investigating the crash.
