Fort Hall man pleads guilty to abusive sexual contact
A Fort Hall man faces up to life in prison and a maximum fine of $250 thousand after pleading guilty Monday to one count of abusive sexual contact. U.S. Attorney Wendy Olson said 33 year old James Rio First pled guilty in the plea deal before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge in Pocatello.
According to the plea agreement, First admitted he had inappropriately touched an eight year old girl four or five times over a six month period on the Shoshone-Bannock Indian Reservation. First is an enrolled tribal member.
First was indicted by a federal grand jury November 22, 2011. He is scheduled to appear for sentencing December 17, 2012 at the federal courthouse in Pocatello.
