Idaho Falls Symphony holds a petting zoo
Families came out in droves Monday night to enjoy a special concert for the kids.
The Idaho Falls Symphony put on a petting zoo not with sheep or goats, but with french horns and violins.
Kids were able to hold and play these instruments.
For some, it was there very first time.
Symphony director Thomas Heuser said a passion for music starts at an early age and he is no exception.
“I was very young. I was probably three years old when I started playing the violin. I’ve never played the crash symbols before, but it’s amazing that they’re getting to play that.”
The concert, called “The Building Blocks of Music” was created to show kids how instruments make different sounds.
The symphony then demonstrated how those sounds work together to make music.
