Rexburg crash sends two to hospital

Two drivers were flown by air ambulance after a crash in Rexburg on Monday morning.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at East Seventh South and South Millhollow Road, Idaho State Police said.

Mason S. Harvey, 18, of Gresham, Ore., was driving south on Millhollow Rd. in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. Earl E. Ryan, 62, of Menan was driving west on East Seventh South in a 1993 Peterbilt semi, pulling a 2006 sidedump trailer. According to a news release, Harvey failed to yield the right-of-way to Ryan at a posted yield sign at the intersection of the two roads. Ryan was unable to stop, and the Peterbilt struck the Pontiac.

Neither Harvey nor Ryan were wearing seat belts, ISP said. Ryan was ejected from the Peterbilt.

Both were transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

The crash investigation is continuing.
