Chubbuck man killed in Sunday night crash

A Chubbuck man was killed in a two vehicle crash at Simplot Road and Mission Road on the Fort Hall Reservation at approximately 6:10 pm Sunday. Kevin Smith, 54, who was passenger in a car driven by Aleisa Smith, 50, of Chubbuck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Idaho State Police said Smith’s car was eastbound on Simplot Road when a pickup driven by Samuel Haroldsen, 30, of Pocatello failed to stop at the intersection with Mission Road. The pickup struck the car on the passenger side.

Haroldsen and his passenger, Matthew Haroldsen, 28, of Mackay, were not injured. Aleisa Smith was transported by ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center.

The crash is still under investigation.
