New Pancheri Drive overpass to partially open
The new Pancheri Drive overpass on Interstate 15 south of Idaho Falls will partially open Wednesday, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Travel will be limited to one lane in each direction in the center of the new bridge so crews can continue work on the parapet and railing.
The new overpass will fully open to two lanes of traffic each way and to bicycle and pedestrian traffic in early November, when the structure is expected to be finished.
Crews currently are paving approaches to the new Pancheri Overpass and placing concrete for parapet and walks.
Demolition and removal of the old bridge starts Oct. 22, with completion scheduled Saturday Oct. 27.
Pancheri Drive will remain open to traffic in both directions throughout the project.
