Memorial Drive to close Friday
Memorial Drive will close Friday as a road construction project draws to a close.
Starting Friday, the road will be completely closed to through traffic to expedite the final grading and paving process and the completion of the roundabout, the city of Idaho Falls said in a news release.
The closed section will be from the corner of Memorial Drive and Broadway through “F” Street and will include the Riverside Drive intersection.
The project, started on July 8, is expected to be completely open to traffic by Nov. 5.
“This final, concerted effort will allow the city to finish the project before the winter weather arrives and will be a significant improvement of the historical roadway,” said Idaho Falls City Engineer Kent Fugal in the news release. “We are very excited to see this project finished and are looking forward to the improvements it has incorporated in our road system.”
