Two Idaho Falls water companies win rate hikes
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has approved rate hikes for two Idaho Falls area water companies.
The Falls Water Company was granted an additional $144,547 in annual revenue. The 10.8 percent increase will heighten rates from about $20.76 a month to $23 for the company’s 3900 customers in northeast Idaho Falls and Ammon. The rate hike took effect October 16.
150 Country Club Hills Water customers will see a 21.7 percent rate hike. The changes will effectively raise average rates from $28.10 per month to $35.46 effective October 12. The IPUC rejected the company’s request to create a capital replacement fund. The Commission determined the additional increase would be “unduly burdensome for the company’s small customer base.”
