Police: Owner finds stolen iPod for sale on BYU-Idaho board

A 22-year-old Arizona man who was trying to sell an iPod was arrested after the actual owner found it listed online, Rexburg police said Thursday.

Police said Jared Baez Leon attempted to sell an iPod that was stolen from the BYU-Idaho McKay Library a couple of days earlier.

They said Leon placed the device on a BYU-Idaho Web board for sale. The alleged plan failed when the iPod’s former owner tried to buy it, then contacted law enforcement.

Leon was arrested on charges of possession of stolen property.
