2 arrested in school threat
A Facebook post containing the possible threat of violence at American Falls High School led to the arrest of a former student and a juvenile.
The Power County Sheriff learned of the threat Sunday and notified the high school at 7 a.m. Monday. Sheriff’s deputies and American Falls police officers were at the school for extra security.
Deputies worked with other local departments in trying to locate the suspect but were unable to locate him until 8:15 a.m. Monday. Matthew E. McGraw, 18, was found at an address in American Falls at by deputies and city officers.
During the investigation, a second suspect, a juvenile, was taken into custody for questioning.
McGraw was arrested on charges of one count of telephone harassment and one count of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. McGraw was being held at the Power County Jail pending arraignment.
The second suspect is being held at a juvenile detention center pending similar charges.
Investigation into this matter is ongoing, but officials believe all participants are in custody at this time.
