Teen falls in Portneuf River
The teenage boy who fell into the Portneuf River on Thursday afternoon has been rescued.
Firefighters said the boy, whose name is not being released, was horsing around on a bridge when he fell into the river.
The water was knee-deep, and the boy was able to walk to a block of ice, which he stood on while he waited for rescuers to help him up.
He suffered minor hypothermia, but emergency crews said it could have been much worse if it was any colder.
They urge people not to play around ice, as it is not as strong due to warmer temperatures.
