Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance releases effective population report
The Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance released the results of its effective population study.
The effective population factors in the number of tourists with the number of permanent residents.
The study found that both groups are growing at the same rate. It also found that Teton County can be home to more than 60,000 people during its peak summer season.
This information will help with the county’s comprehensive plan to efficiently manage growth.
“It might effect … their emergency services, transportation, infrastructure and where they’re spending their money,” said Kara Silbernagel, who completed the report.
This report is the first of its kind in 20 years for Teton County.
