Chris Renkel

Chris comes to Idaho from Indiana, where he graduated from Ball State University with a degree in telecommunications/journalism news.

While attending Ball State, Chris was involved with multiple student media groups, including Ball State Sports Link and News Link Indiana. As a member of WCRD 91.3 FM, Chris served as the radio sideline reporter for the Ball State Football team and radio play-by-play announcer for the Ball State women’s basketball team.

Chris has won multiple national reporting and storytelling awards, and as a student he received a Professional Emmy Nomination for Single Sports News Story in 2013.

Originally from Westlake, Ohio, Chris grew up a huge sports fan and still loves his Cleveland Browns and Indians. He is also an avid outdoorsman and enjoys backpacking, camping, hiking and canoeing in his spare time.
