Idaho state parks still open under shutdown

Federal parks are closed under the partial government shutdown, but state parks are not.

On Wednesday, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation reminded people in the Gem State they can still venture into the outdoors.

“Idaho has federally-managed and state-managed outdoor parks and public spaces,” said IDPR Communications Manager Jennifer Okerlund. “Our national parks may not be accessible right now, but Idaho’s state parks are open and continue to offer wonderful fall camping and day-use opportunities.”

The City of Rocks National Reserve isa cooperatively managed property impacted in partby the shutdown.
