Ammon lawyer named new 7th District Judge

Ammon attorney Alan Stephens has been appointed as eastern Idaho’s newest District Judge.

Stephens was named to the new 7th District position in Jefferson County by Governor Butch Otter Thursday. The position was authorized by the Idaho legislature last winter.

Stephens, 62, was selected from among three finalists submitted by the Idaho Judicial Council for consideration. An Ammon resident and Soda Springs native, Stephens has been a partner in the firm of Thomsen Stephens Law Offices since 1990.

Stephens attended Idaho State university and received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He earned his law degree from the University of Idaho.

Stephens and his wife Glenna Ann have seven children.
