Bonneville kicks off fire prevention week
The Bonneville County Fire District held an open house at Fire Station No. 2 Tuesday, in light of Fire Prevention Week.
The district conducted station tours and gave safety tips. People were educated on what to do if a fire were to occur in their home. Firefighters said most fires start in kitchens because people are unaware of safety precautions.
Captain Kim Sibbette said the station’s top priority is to make sure people are aware.
“The biggest thing is life safety. The three things we look for is life safety, property conservation and incident stabilization. The first thing is to get everyone out of the house, if we do that, that’s success.”
The fire district will be hosting open houses the whole week at the following stations from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
