EIRMC gives free cancer screenings

A lot of people try to avoid the doctor’s office due to costly health bills, but one center is picking up the tab.

The Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center will hold free and reduced cancer screenings Saturday. Most tests will be for prostate and breast cancer, but there will be others.

Oncologists say the effects of cancer can be greatly reduced if you get screened regularly.

“The gold standard is still early detection in fighting cancer. That’s why EIRMC wanted to provide some opportunity for the public to get cancer screenings,” said EIRMC’s community relations specialist, Nathan Miller.

Pre-registration started Oct. 1, but walk-ins are still welcome in the morning. Screenings are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Idaho Regional Medical Cancer Center.
