2 held in vehicle burglaries

Police may have solved a recent string of burglaries in Pocatello.

Using information obtained by patrol deputies, detectives, dispatchers and school resource officers, Pocatello police stopped Richard Steffens,18, at 905 Yellowstone at around 8 p.m. Friday.

Under questioning, police said Steffens confessed to being involved in multiple burglaries. He also identified a juvenile accomplice.

The minor, who was found with the help of Chubbuck police and Juvenile Probation, also admitted involvement in the burglaries.

Steffens was being held on a warrant and one count of burglary. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

The minor was being held at Juvenile Detention Center on a probation violation warrant pending further charges.
