Driver, wife arrested in gun incident

A West Yellowstone, Mont., man is being held in the Madison County Jail after police said he displayed a gun to another driver on U.S. Highway 20 Wednesday.

Rexburg police said a motorist reported the threat around 11:30 a.m. near the Main Street exit of U.S. 20 in Rexburg.Police pulled over a black Bravada at milepost 335 about two minutes later.

The driver, Richard Ludaway, 46, was arrested on a felony count of possession of a concealed weapon by a felon, one misdemeanor count of possession of a concealed weapon, and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. The Madison County Prosecutor’s Office is also considering an additional felony charge of brandishing a weapon.

Police said a semi-automatic, 9-millimeter Beretta, two loaded magazines and marijuana were recovered from the car.

Ludaway’s wife, Manica J. Ludaway, 38, was a passenger in the car.She was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rexburg police said Richard Ludaway had a long criminal history, including a bench warrant from Fremont County.
