Malad postmaster arrested on drug charges
The postmaster in Malad has been arrested on drug charges.
Bradley Hunter, 28, was arrested Thursday on two charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without privileges, all misdemeanors. He was being held on a $3,500 bail.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has not linked Hunter to the armed robbery of a local post office that prompted a lockdown of banks and schools in Malad on Wednesday.
“There are a lot of rumors that we arrested him for the robbery of the Malad post office, but that is not true,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “That investigation is still active and open, and we are working with the U.S. postal inspectors in that investigation.”
