The Wort Hotel wins national award
The Wort Hotel in Jackson has been honored with a national award.
The hotel has been around since 1941, but it was recently named the “Best Small Historic Hotel” in the United States by Historic Hotels of America. The Wort Hotel won in the category of 75 rooms or less.
General Manager Jim Waldrop said the boutique hotel’s size allows its staff to provide a unique level of hospitality. He was honored by the award.
“It is very prestigious,” said Waldrop. “We are very proud, and we are singing it from the tops of the mountains, because it is truly a great award for our staff, our ownership, and we believe, this community.”
The Wort Hotel also houses the Silver Dollar Bar, which features more than 2,000 silver dollar coins within its bar top.
