Man wanted in stabbing of his son

Police are looking for an Idaho Falls man they said stabbed his sonlate Tuesday night.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s office said they are looking for Ron Myers, 48.

According to a news release, Myers was staying in an apartment above a horse arena on 97 South.His son and daughter-in-law were visiting with him.

Myers got a phone call, they said and became upset. At one point he pointed a gun at his daughter-in-law.His son, of Blackfoot, stepped in between them and was stabbed in the left arm with a knife.

Police were called about 11:15 p.m.

Deputies said they searched the area and couldn’t find Myers.

Neighbors said they are shocked. Ray Hollist has lived across the street for years and said he didn’t see this coming.

“We’re just shocked. You know, we weren’t expecting anything like this to happen here. You’d see him (Ron Myers) riding his motorcycle up and down the roads, but he was mostly to himself,” said Hollist.

Myers is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 175 pounds, has brown hair and eyes.

His son was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to be treated.
