Road reopens after rock smashes pickup
South Park Loop Road reopened Thursday after being closed due to the danger of falling rocks.
The closure had applied to vehicles as well as pedestrians.
As the ground thaws, rocks can loosen and fall. The Jackson Police Department had shut down the road from Gregory Lane to Middle School Road after a large rock came crashing down on a pickup Tuesday. No one was hurt.
It was open for a time Wednesday. It was closed again, and reopened Thursday afternoon.
