Minor flooding reported in Teton County, Wyo.

Sandbags are being handed out to people throughout Teton County, Wyo., for minor flooding.

Minor flooding peaked Friday and Saturday, but Rich Ochs, Teton County Emergency Management coordinator, said some residents are still stopping by for help. He said there’s several factors contributing to the flooding.

“Rising temperatures, but rain on snow,” said Ochs. “Just causing that snow to melt, and the ground’s still frozen, so it really has nowhere to go.”

Those experiencing flooding can go to the Teton County Road & Levee yard or the town of Jackson Public Works yard to pick up sandbags.

“It’s been getting into basements, some living spaces, and we’ve had a couple businesses flooded, as well,” said Ochs.

If you are experiencing flooding, you are encouraged to report it to Teton County Management at em@tetonwyo.org. Photos and description of location are also helpful.
