Roberts man dies after being struck by an SUV
A Roberts man died Saturday afternoon after being hit by an SUV while walking along highway 48.
Allen Clayton, 65, of Roberts, was walking eastbound on the paved portion of the westbound lane of State Highway 48when he was struck by aChevrolet Suburban.
The driver in the SUV tried to swerve to miss Clayton and struck Clayton with the right side of the Suburban.
Clayton was transported via air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police with assistance at the scene from the Jefferson County Sheriff.
