Pedestrian struck by car in crosswalk

One person was hospitalized after being struck by a car in Rexburg around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The pedestrian, a female Brigham Young University-Idaho student, was walking north through a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Seventh South and Center Street.The driver was eastbound and did not see her due to the sun in his eyes. Police said he was going slow.

The victim was transported to Madison Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries, which were not life-threatening.

The incident is under investigation.
