Iona Splash Park Opens to Public
The splash park in Iona opened to the public Friday afternoon. The city held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening.
Admission to the park is free. The mayor said he hopes the community will take pride in the area and make sure trash is collected.
“It is exciting. It has been a long time coming and we wish it would have happened a long time ago. And like I was saying, it has been a dream of mine since I have been mayor to have something like this for the community,” said Mayor Brad Anderson.
The park will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anderson said benches and a picnic area will also be constructed in the park. It all should be complete by next spring or summer.
