Local indoor gun range set to open right on target
A new indoor gun range in Idaho Falls is opening right on target. Monday night, local law enforcement took advantage of the training that the range offers.
Guns N Gear Sports is a premier state-of-the-art indoor shooting range. The range includes 15 indoor lanes in the shooting range, a gun shop and training space.
“I worked for a company where we were robbed at gunpoint and so I went to buy my first firearm and I went to a gun range in Utah and had a great time. I spent more money than I should have and I thought we need to have this in Idaho Falls,” said Ryan Later, the owner.
“We wanted to make shooting safer for our community so we couldn’t ignore that part of the sport. We have put together a guns and gears academy and we will teach 30-40 classes,” Later said.
The range will be housed in a 15,000-square-foot building and the opening couldn’t come at a better time. The Crime Prevention Research Center said over 85,000 Idahoans have concealed weapons permit.
“With the large population of the community that owns gun this allows those people that own firearms to come and enjoy them. Half of the year you can’t use guns due to the weather, but now you can continue to use them here at the range,” said Later.
The range is set to open Saturday at 9 a.m. It is at 1315 S. Crane Drive and will be open Monday through Sunday. Later said memberships will not be required. For more information click here,https://www.facebook.com/gngsports/timeline.
