Targhee opens for ski season
Grand Targhee Ski Resort opened for their 46th winter season.
“I’m stoked to be back on snow, you know I’m just having fun making use of what we have,” said Sam Johnston.
“I’ve been skiing here for 25 years at Targhee,” Jim Abens said.
If you think that’s dedication.
“I will be here every weekend all season,” said Abens.
“We ski everyday every winter,” said Steven Kardas.
A lot of people really dread the winter season and we don’t really like this kind of snow but people here love winter time.
“Well you’re outside you’re getting fresh air, you’re doing something even when it’s 10 below zero,” Abens said.
“We hate summer and we wait all summer for winter,” said Kardas.
They also say they’re having a blast.
“Today there’s a lot of powder up on the hill and couldn’t wait to get out,” said Kaysen Ison.
” I just love to get out there and just do whatever, it doesn’t matter if you crash there’s tons of powder,” Cienna Curtis said.
“Hanging out with friends, going down the hill hitting jumps,” said Ison.
“We got some sweet powder up there, so it’s been way fun,” said Landon Curtis.
Right now three lifts are running, and more will open once there’s more snow on the ground. So far, the resort has 56 inches of natural snow.
