Cabela’s general manager introduced in Ammon

Cabela’s general manager was introduced at the Ammon City Council meeting Thursday night. Curtis Smith was introduced by Mayor Dana Kirkham.

Smith gave some details about the new store. He said it is going to be smaller than most, but it will feature sections targeted towards eastern Idahoans. Smith said there will definitely be lots of fly fishing gear. Smith also said the store is still looking for a few more managers, part-time and seasonal workers.

“We are super excited to be in Ammon so it fits right into the lifestyle of what we do in Cabela’s and the people who live in this area. Super excited obviously to get the store up and running,” Smith said.

The new store is in the Sandcreek Commons Development, at Hitt Road and Sunnyside in Ammon. It is expected to open in mid-May. Smith is from Missouri and his wife is from Boise. He said he is excited to be in Idaho.
