Ballroom dancer wins Distinguished Student Award
Madison High School senior Logan Bagley is a member of the elite gold team of the Idaho Ballroom Academy and loves it.
“It’s really, really fun, and the chance I have to perform is what makes ballroom worth it,” Bagley said. “The fact that you are able to work and be able to perform and then you feel so good. You feel like you’ve accomplished something great and that’s what I love about ballroom.”
Bagley’s love of the arts extends to music. He’s first chair cello in the high school orchestra and sings in the elite Bel Canto choir.
“It’s great to be able to play and sing this music that really could move people to tears honestly if they felt the power of the music,” Bagley said.
Bagley’s achievements also extend to sports, where he’s a captain on the football team.
“The funnest thing about football is to be able to play as a team and have your brothers out there on the field,” Bagley said.
When Bagley isn’t involved in dance, music and sports, he spends time studying. He got a 35 on the ACT test and takes advanced placement and honors classes.
Bagley feels strongly that Americans should learn a foreign language. He’s conversant in Spanish and French. Bagley makes good use of his time and encourages other students to do the same.
“Time is one of our most precious commodities, and if you waste time, you can’t get it back,” Bagley said.
