Gun rights activists rally in Rexburg

If passed, House Bill 89 would allow people to carry guns without a concealed weapons permit.

Currently under Idaho code, it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon without a license.

“We’re committed to keep doing this until we see some changes,” Dan Roberts said.

Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Vermont and Wyoming have constitutional carry.

“We think it’s time for Idaho to get on board,” Roberts said.

The rally started march at the Madison County Courthouse and ended at the Tabernacle civic center.

The Idaho Second Amendment Alliance has been trying to get the bill passed for three years.

Currently HB-89 is waiting for a hearing with the House State Affairs House Committee.

This proposed bill would not eliminate the need for enhanced carry permits on college campuses.
