Wednesday’s Child waiting for adoptive family

Aaron is a likable, determined young man with a generous smile. People who know him describe him as polite, engaging, social, a bit shy, eager to please, giving, faithful and someone who wants to be a good example for others who are struggling.

Aaron introduces himself this way:

“Some things I want families to know about me are that I’m hard working, eager, and determined. My friends would say I’m willing to compromise when needed and I’m funny, intelligent, and caring. I enjoy hanging out with friends, fishing, playing games, running, and reading historical non-fiction, fantasy, and ‘realistic’ fiction books. I also like to bowl, ride my bike and ride horses. I’ve helped with cattle drives a couple of times and really enjoyed that. I enjoy gardening, and like to help choose what vegetables to plant. I love dogs–especially smaller ones.

I would like a family that has other children. I get along well with kids of all ages. I hope they love camping and fishing and will let me practice the skills I’ve learned in Scouts. I hope to continue my advancement in the scouting program. I especially like participating in High Adventure activities. This summer we are going kyacking and river rafting. I can’t wait!

My favorite classes in school are World History, English, Biology and Math. I love going to Study Skills. It’s the best thing ever because I get to go at my own pace. I like attending classes, but I’m not crazy about kids getting into fights at school and I don’t like bullying. I want to be an aerospace engineer or a computer systems administrator some day.”

Aaron hopes for a family that will support him while he goes on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His faith has strengthened him in hard times and he hopes his family will support his participation. Aaron describes other qualities he would like in a family: “I’d like a mother who is assertive, caring, and fun. I think I would like a father who is dedicated and organized. It’s important to have a family with members who are honest, helpful to their community, respectful to themselves and others, and to their environment.” Aaron further states, “A parent could teach me the skills I need to know so I can teach my kids those skills someday.”

One of Aaron’s most positive qualities is his desire and effort to improve himself. He is open to counseling, treatment, feedback from service workers and even peers. He’s made incredible strides in counseling and treatment. He especially credits social workers and friends and his grandparents for helping him achieve his goals.

Aaron would like to keep in contact with his younger brother and some other key people who live in Eastern Idaho, and is open to moving out of the state if the right family came along. He does have grandparents in Wisconsin, with whom he has regular contact. He will need a family that will support his relationship with them and other important people in his life.

If you are ready to support a bright, loving, eager young man into adulthood, Aaron might be the right choice for you! His love of life and desire to be his best make him a great candidate for a loving family like yours.
