Volunteer helps shelter get money

The Pocatello Animal Shelter has won $1,000 thanks to one of their volunteers taking the time to help match cats to owners.

Tami Richards is a shelter volunteer, one who the shelter said matches cats to owners with great instincts. The shelter submitted her story to Purina Cat Chow and won the $1,000.

The shelter said they are always looking for new volunteers, and this was a way to appreciate those who take the time.

“We have an excellent group of volunteers. There’s a lot of them that we have that do so many things,” said Mary Remer, shelter director. “Tami just stood out.”

The Pocatello Animal Shelter is representing the state in the nation-wide Purina Challenge. Purina will be choosing a national winner on March 16. Part of the selection process is public voting. To vote for Tami, follow this link to Purina’s website:catchow.com.
