Idaho Falls man publishes book featuring local legends
“It ended up being a labor of love for this place where I’ve lived for thirty 33 years,” author Paul Menser said.
Since the summer of 2013, Menser has been working on his book “Legendary Locals of Idaho Falls”.
“There are some extraordinary folks that made this place what it is,” Menser said.
He started the process taking a look back, by spending lot of time at the Museum of Idaho to learn about how Idaho Falls came to be.
“What I did first was come up with an outline and basically broke the history of the town down into certain segments,” Menser said.
The 128-page book is split up into five chapters and features many influential people from Idaho Falls, such as the first mayor of the city, famous athletes, and a judge from the hit TV show “America’s Next Top Model”.
“I’m in awe of so many of these people,” Menser said.
Menser believes this book raises a good question for those who live here.
“Who among us here now are they going to look back on in 50 or 75 years and say, ‘Wow, he really or she really made a contribution to this place,'” Menser said.
