Conference focuses on women in business

At the annual Women’s Business Symposium, women celebrate their economic potential as career women and small-business owners.It’s an all-day conference with training, speakers and networking opportunities. It runs in two tracks geared toward career development and small business.

The Pocatello Small Business Development Center at Idaho State University hosted the event. They said they are seeing more successful businesses started by women in the region, and hope to expand this success more.

“What I’d like to do is harness whatever’s happening there and expand that in our community because I think it’s only beneficial when that happens,” said Ann Swanson, SBDC director.
