Alpine wins infrastructure funding

The town of Alpine has secured financing to purchase the private water and sewer infrastructure of North Star Utility. The Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board approved the town’s $3 million grant request. Alpine will use the infrastructure to accommodate its growth strategy.

The board rejected a Business Ready Community (BRC) grant request from the town of Jackson. The town sought $25,000 to study the feasibility of a bike share program in the community.

The BRC provides financing for publicly owned infrastructure that serves the needs of business and promotes economic development and diversity.

Both projects were approved by the Wyoming Business Council, but required final approval from the SLIB. The board is comprised of the five statewide elected officials: governor, secretary of state, state auditor, state treasurer, and state superintendent of public instruction.
