How to keep your home safe while on vacation
Temperatures are expected to heat up again, and with that comes the risk of more thefts.
Be careful when leaving your homes and property unattended. Statistics show most burglaries occur during the hotter months of July and August.
“Nobody likes to go out in the cold. So, then with the heat it’s nice and comfortable. And you can get in and out. You got more daylight so that is a little bit of an hindrance you know in the summer time for burglars. That’s good for us in the summer but they still become aggressive because of the weather,” said Dennis Huff owner of LDA Security.
To keep your home safe, start with the basics. Close all doors and windows before you leave your home and make sure they’re locked.
Consider a surveillance monitoring system. Also, home security cameras are a great way to catch unwanted guests in the act.
Also, never share on social media when you are on vacation or out of town.
