Idaho Fish and Game seeks public comment
The Idaho Fish and Game commission will meet tonight at their southeast regional office in Pocatello.
Tonight’s hearing focuses on thoughts and ideas the community may have on existing rules and regulations in the state. Anyone who plans to hunt this fall is encouraged to attend and share their thoughts with Fish and Game. The meeting is expected to cover a wide array of topics.
“An increase in Sand Hill crane tag numbers here in eastern and southeastern Idaho,” says Jennifer Jackson, Regional Conservation Educator at Idaho Department of Fish and Game. “There looking at a possible Canada Goose season, in southeast Idaho. There looking at mountain lion season setting…changes possible proposals for bear bait.”
They’re even addressing elk and deer discounted tags.
“The recent discount of non resident left over tags for purchase for residents and not resident that’s a program that was instigated by last years big game season,” says Jackson. “Theres good information that the staff would like to share with the fish and game commission. And can use that information to determine whether thats a program worth caring on.”
The hearing starts tonight at 7 P.M.
The commission will meet again July 30th to discuss other game issues.
