Three survive plane crash in Power County
Three Colorado people survived a plane crash in Power County on Sunday, August 2.
The Power County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday the 4-seat plane ran out of fuel and the pilot crash-landed about 3 miles west of Bonanza Lake. It happened about 6:45 p.m.
Passenger, Monika Olczyk, 21, was able to call for help on her cell phone. She walked out to help deputies find the crash site. She was not injured.
The pilot, Grzegorz Marzec, 23, and passenger Dominika Maria Kus, 26, were also not injured in crash.
The landing caused damage to the left wing and the landing gear broke off..
Marzec told officers they were coming from San Francisco and heading to Yellowstone National Park on vacation.
All three were from Boulder, Colorado.
The FAA is continuing the investigation.
