Army National Guard challenge

Young soldiers got a big challenge Saturday.

The Idaho National Guard had them complete a rope course, during which soldiers learned to work with each other as a team in order to fulfill their training.

Soldiers put on safety harnesses and climbed up the Alpine Tower. They assisted each other, making sure no soldiers were left behind. But before they got started they did a few basic training exercises.

“The next step for these soldiers are to go to basic combat training, which is approximitly 10 weeks long, and from there they move on to their career to get their skill set, whatever it is, there is a wide variety of careers and skill sets that each one of these as individuals have chose,” said Idaho National Guard Staff Sgt. Trevor Fallow

An average time for a soldier to be in this program is about four months.
