Back-to-School made easy

Saturday, the Gate City got to see months of hard work pay off.

Parents lined up for their annual Back-to-School Giveaway event. For most parents this event eased financial stress that comes with back to school shopping.

“lts a great program, to bring your kids to, I’m with four kids having to buy school supplies is out standing prices last year we spent almost four hundred dollars because we missed the back to school because we were out of town, In years passed it saved me $150 easy,” said mother of four, Chelsea Cluff.

Kids received new backpacks, binders, pencils and other basic school essentials. The event also offered clothes for children and adults.

Local businesses came out to show their support. Kids walked away with free eye examines and dental checks.

It wasn’t all work, there was a bounce house, food and treats for them to enjoy.
